SUNSHINE TILIA ESTATE

The line represents fresh, yearly and youthful wines. They draw their characters from freshness and varietal notes. The basic perceptions are varietal and distinctly fruitful. These wines preserve freshness and fruitfulness for two years after bottling, but are nonetheless produced with the intention of being consumed while still young.

Wine is smooth, rich in taste – fruity with a lot of refreshing impressions. Its dominating note is fresh melon, followed by summer pear, green apple and lemon skin notes.

Wine is very smooth in taste with rich grassy aroma, with a lot of refreshing impressions of grape fruit, capsicum and passion fruit.

Wine is smooth, rich in taste, fruity and creamy. Matured apple notes are combined with some orange skin. Long buttery finish.

Very strong fresh Muscat group notes of summer pears, early peach, green apricots. Nice acidity, semi-sweet and refreshing.

TILIA ESTATE BLACK LABEL

The line represents mature wines, aged in oak barrels. They are produced from grapes with a prolonged maturing process in the vineyard. Cold maceration is followed by fermentation and resting on yeast. The aging lasts for two to three years in carefully selected oak barrels. Suitable for drinking immediately after bottling, but can be aged for the next five to ten years. The wines are still dominated by fruit notes (albeit more mature fruit), which are pleasantly intertwined with other aromas of maturing.

  • The story of Pinots Noirs
    • The story of Pinot Noirs is intertwined with the story of the Vipava Valley, a place of diverse macro and micro locations. As a general rule, pinot noir prefers the lower positions and at these altitudes, the variety boasts distinct freshness and aromaticity. The diversity of locations and ground compositions in the valley, which stretches for 40 kilometres, results in richness and a profoundly inspired wine creation process. This bestows the House of Pinots a unique added value.

    • PINOT NOIR VIPAVA VALLEY
       is our basic Pinot Noir. It represents a cross section of grapes from various vineyards and of various ages, although young vines are in the majority. It is comparaable to the Burgundian appellation village.

      PINOT NOIR MERLJAKI originates from the lower Vipava Valley and is located 15 km from the property. The vineyard is planted at the foot of Fajtov hrib, on a marl plateau above the Vipava river, just below the Karst plateau. It could also be named cru Merljaki.

      PINOT NOIR ESTATE comes from the vineyards of the estate. The name and quality of the wine is comparable to the Burgundian domaine.

      PINOT NOIR WHITE LABEL is the premium line of our winery. It reflects the winemaker’s youthful experiences of new world wines.

Excitingly fruity. Elegant after 1 year.
Accent on varietal character, presence of aromas of ripe cherries, redcurrant, ripe elderberries, fresh, slightly smoky notes present, on the palate rich minerality. Medium bodied.
The wine is drinkable now but also suitable for aging 2 – 3 years.

Excitingly elegant. Elegant for 5 years.
Red wine of matured red fruit aromas (cherry, sour cherry, bramble), dry plums. Smoky and with hints of soil on the palate and nose.
The wine is matured, elegant, drinkable now but also suitable for aging 4 – 6 years.

Excitingly robust. Elegant after 3 – 5 years.
Matured, typical of longer maturation. Red wine of matured aromas of ripe forest fruit, dry plums and jam. Smoky and with hits of soil on the palate and nose.
The wine is matured, drinkable now but also suitable for some aging 6 – 10 years.

RUBIDO, BLACK LABEL 2016

Rubido 2016

Ruby color with youthful violet hues. Mature aromas of ripe red fruits (bramble, raspberry, sour cherry), carob, spicy cinnamon notes, vanilla and some smoky notes. Recognizable aromatic of cabernet sauvignon (blackcurrant). Classical modern Bordeaux wine, ready to drink now but with a long life 5 – 10 years.

Wine is smooth, fresh, medium bodied fruity and creamy. Notes of matured apple, vanilla, bread crust. The wine combines freshness of all estate white grapes and oak spiciness.

Modern Bordeaux blend typical for the left bank of the river Gironde with lighter body but rich tannic structure with recognizable aromatic of cabernet Sauvignon. Because of the nice freshness the wine matures in the bottle.
