Before maceration a part of the must is taken away to concentrate the tannins and colour (saigne). 10 days of classic maceration in stainless steel tank. Aged for 16 months in new French oak barrique barrels Louis Latour. Controlled malolactic fermentation, 4 months of active batonaging.

Wine Description:

Excitingly massive. Elegant after 6 years.
Red wine with rich aromas of ripe red fruits, dry plums and jam. On the nose and palate soil and smoke notes present as well as the elegance of aristocratic Louis Latour oak barrel. The wine is slightly tannic with preserved freshness.
It is matured, ready to be enjoyed today but also suitable for aging 5 – 10 years.

Food and Wine

Recommended to all kinds of red meat, venison and spicy dishes. Best to be enjoyed by itself in good company.

Weather Characteristics of Vintages:

One of the calmest vintages of recent years. Although the beginning of vegetation was late due to the prolonged winter, the whole vegetation year was characterized by stress-free weather phenomena. Flowering of early varieties began in late May and ended with Cabernet Sauvignon in late June. June and July were pleasant, not too hot, with an optimal amount of rainfall. The onset of ripening was slightly later than average and even the moderately warm August did not accelerate the ripening of the grapes. At the end of August, the daily presence of wind (bora) accelerated the concentration of sugar. September was dry and the harvest proceeded smoothly. The choice of technological maturity has thus been simplified. Harvest began on August 21 (sparkling wine), ended on October 9 (cabernet sauvignon).
